Controversial manager Ozzie Guillen has been fired by the Miami Marlins, the team announced on Twitter.

The Marlins also tweeted comments from the team's president of baseball operations.

"After careful consideration following the disappointment of the 2012 season, we decided to dismiss Ozzie," - Larry Beinfest.
